Facebook is a social networking giant and there are now over 1 billion people on Facebook, it is said that if Facebook were a nation, it would be the 3rd largest in the world!
Facebook definitely sounds like a good place to do Business, but how do you attract some of the 1 billion people on Facebook into Your Business?
- Know your Target Audience
It’s important that you know your target audience so you can tailor your message and strategy to them.
Are you a children’s party entertainer targeting mums? Or a make-up artists targeting brides and bridal parties?
Your message – what you share on facebook must be tailored to your audience. What do they want to know? How do they want to know it – Pictures, Videos, Text? What result do they want to achieve?
All these are important things you must know about your target audience.
- Be there!
Post regularly on your facebook page, at least daily!
In the case of a Facebook page, it’s not “Build IT and they will come”, you must attract your Target audience and the way to attract them is to share things of value on your page.
I personally share on my Facebook page, at least 3 times a day.
Share Inspirational quotes, methods and tools you are using to achieve success in what you do, celebrate your business successes; remember not to overdo promoting your business as this turns people off.
Create a balance.
- Use Pictures
Facebook is a “Picture Economy”. That’s why it is called facebook. Research has shown that images get a lot more attention on Facebook than text and are the best-performing posts. So use Pictures.
- Tell people about your facebook page “offline” too
Put the link to your Facebook page on your Business Card. When you give people your Business Card, make sure you tell them to check you out on facebook and like your page.
This way, they will learn more about your Business and be continually kept aware of all that your Business offers.
